Grow in Groups

At Haven Bible Church, we live out our faith through four rhythms that shape every believer’s walk with Christ: worship in gatherings, grow in groups, learn in studies, and serve on teams. Each rhythm helps us know God more deeply, love one another more faithfully, and live out the gospel more fully—for the glory of God and the good of His church.

After completing our Next Step Class, you’ll receive an email to see if you would like to join our rhythms of serving on teams, growing in groups, and learning in studies! Follow the link in the email to sign up for teams, groups, or studies.

Small groups gather in homes throughout Spokane at different times during the week, bringing together up to 12 people for weekly two-hour gatherings. Led by a trained leader, you'll pursue growth in Jesus by discussing Sunday's sermon, praying together, and encouraging one another toward Christlikeness through God's Word.

“to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ” - Ephesians 4:12-13

  • Small groups are a priority at Haven. Some of the most impactful ministry takes place in our small groups as group members study more deeply the sermon from Sunday and make an effort to apply what they have been taught to their daily lives (James 1:22) God’s Word while supporting and sharing life with one another. We believe that meeting together in a group on a regular basis is one of the best things you can do for your spiritual health.

  • As our primary source of equipping at Haven we are intentional about how we form small groups.

After the Next Step Class you will speak with our Pastor of Small Groups to get you connected with an On Ramp Group.

All small groups are done differently, our On Ramp groups are a 6 week intro to our small groups to help understand the way that Haven does small group. These groups will get you up to speed so when you are placed into a small group you know what to expect and how to flourish in praying together and growing and equipping one another in Christlikeness.

  • Weekly gatherings keep your group moving forward with the kind of relational momentum that makes real community possible. We all need a place where we’re known, loved, and cared for—and that kind of depth doesn’t happen by accident. It grows through consistent, intentional time together around God’s Word. Meeting weekly gives your group a steady rhythm to build those meaningful relationships.

  • Each group runs from September through May.  Our small groups follow the public school year and don’t meet over the summer, mid-June through August.  During the summer months we will have events and read a book as a church.  Summer is more relaxed but we still want to gather and grow in groups.

  • Small groups meet on various nights of the week in homes throughout the local area.

  • Small groups are for adults only. Of course, exceptions are made for newborns up to six months. We leave it up to each family to work out their own childcare. Sometimes it works best for families to share a sitter or swap childcare with another family whose group meets on a different night.

  • Few things in life are free. And your involvement in a group is no exception! The cost of a group is the cost of commitment. Small group is a choice that we hope you make for your own growth in Christlikeness.
