At Haven Bible Church, we live out our faith through four rhythms that shape every believer’s walk with Christ: worship in gatherings, grow in groups, learn in studies, and serve on teams. Each rhythm helps us know God more deeply, love one another more faithfully, and live out the gospel more fully—for the glory of God and the good of His church.
Grow in Groups

Small groups gather in homes throughout Spokane at different times during the week, bringing together up to 12 people for weekly two-hour gatherings. Led by a trained leader, you'll pursue growth in Jesus by discussing Sunday's sermon, praying together, and encouraging one another toward Christlikeness through God's Word.
“to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ” - Ephesians 4:12-13
-
Small groups are a priority at Haven. Some of the most impactful ministry takes place in our small groups as group members study more deeply the sermon from Sunday and make an effort to apply what they have been taught to their daily lives (James 1:22) God’s Word while supporting and sharing life with one another. We believe that meeting together in a group on a regular basis is one of the best things you can do for your spiritual health.
-
Weekly gatherings keep your group moving forward with the kind of relational momentum that makes real community possible. We all need a place where we’re known, loved, and cared for—and that kind of depth doesn’t happen by accident. It grows through consistent, intentional time together around God’s Word. Meeting weekly gives your group a steady rhythm to build those meaningful relationships.
-
Each group runs from September through May. Our small groups follow the public school year and don’t meet over the summer, mid-June through August. During the summer months we will have events and read a book as a church. Summer is more relaxed but we still want to gather and grow in groups.
-
Small groups meet on various nights of the week in homes throughout the local area.
-
Small groups are for adults only. Of course, exceptions are made for newborns up to six months. We leave it up to each family to work out their own childcare. Sometimes it works best for families to share a sitter or swap childcare with another family whose group meets on a different night.
-
Few things in life are free. And your involvement in a group is no exception! The cost of a group is the cost of commitment. Small group is a choice that we hope you make for your own growth in Christlikeness.
Start with On Ramp
On Ramp is a six-week introduction to Small Group life at Haven. It’s more than a class about Small Groups. For six weeks, you’ll actually experience one. Each gathering begins with a brief teaching on why we pursue life together the way we do at Haven, then moves into Small Group time where we open God’s Word, share honestly about our lives, and pray for one another.
By the end, our hope is that you’ll have had time to build relationships, experience biblical community, and understand what participating in a Haven Small Group really means, so you can decide whether an ongoing group is your next step.
Christ changes us → Christ joins us to one another → Christ works through us for the good of others
